Safety/prevention event in Brighton Beach

Thanks to all who came out tonight to our fire safety/prevention event in Brighton Beach. Thank you to Pervez Siddiqui, Erum Hanif, and Shazia Bibi of Apna Community Center for hosting. It was great to be joined by the dedicated Glen Schneider and David Spira of NYRRT, and Lt. Adeel Rana and Detective Mohammad Amen from the NYPD’s Muslim Officer’s Society.

As always, Lt. Anthony Mancuso did a phenomenal job teaching local residents how to keep their home safe, and how to be prepared in the event of an emergency.

APNA Brooklyn Community Center was founded in 2017 in Brighton Beach to build bridges through community engagement, education, and empowerment. Since its founding, APNA has jumped right into projects to meet the needs of local residents, especially those who are low-income, older, and/or have limited English proficiency.
