As our First Women’s History Month Highlight we would like to recognize Fatima Jinnah!Fatima Jinnah was a Pakistani dental surgeon, biographer, and a prominent political figure in the history of Pakistan. She was born on 31st July 1893 in British India, and was the younger sister of Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.Fatima Jinnah played a vital role in the establishment of Pakistan and was an active member of the All India Muslim League. She worked tirelessly to promote the cause of Pakistan and was a strong advocate for women’s rights.As a political activist, she was known for her fiery speeches and tireless campaigning for democracy and women’s rights. She was one of the first women in the Indian subcontinent to enter politics, and she inspired many women to follow in her footsteps.She ran for the presidency of Pakistan in 1965, becoming the first Muslim woman to run for the presidency of any country. Although she lost the election, her campaign brought issues of women’s rights to the forefront of Pakistani politics.Fatima Jinnah’s legacy continues to inspire women in Pakistan to this day.
